Heavy Duty Hexagonal Wire Mesh Structure and Applications

Heavy Duty Hexagonal Wire Mesh is produced by twisting adjacent steel wires to form continuous hexagonal openings. The twisted construction provides flexibility while distributing loads across the mesh, allowing it to adapt to uneven terrain and engineering protection requirements.

Different wire diameters, mesh openings and roll dimensions can be selected according to project requirements. The mesh can be supplied in rolls for further fabrication or field use.

Twisted Hexagonal Mesh Structure

The mesh is available in 3-twist and 5-twist structures. The number of twists affects the connection between adjacent wires and can be selected according to the required mesh construction and application.

Accurate control of wire feeding and twisting during production helps maintain consistent mesh openings and stable roll geometry.

Material and Corrosion Protection

Galvanized steel wire, Galfan alloy wire and PVC-coated galvanized wire are available for different service environments. Hot-dip galvanizing provides corrosion protection for general outdoor applications, while Galfan offers enhanced corrosion resistance.

For more demanding environments, PVC coating can be applied over galvanized wire to provide an additional protective layer.

Mesh Opening and Wire Diameter

Common mesh openings include 50 × 60 mm, 70 × 90 mm, 90 × 110 mm and 150 × 150 mm, with wire diameters ranging from 2.0 to 4.0 mm.

The appropriate combination should be selected according to the required strength, flexibility and engineering application. Roll widths from 1 to 3 m and lengths from 10 to 50 m are available.

Applications of Heavy Hexagonal Wire Mesh

This type of mesh is commonly used for gabion fabrication, slope stabilization, rockfall protection and other engineering reinforcement projects. Its flexible twisted structure allows the mesh to adapt to uneven terrain and changes in ground conditions.

For slope and rockfall applications, wire diameter, mesh opening and surface treatment should be selected according to the required protection level and environmental conditions.
