Razor Wire
Overview
Razor wire is a high-security protection product made from steel strip and high-strength steel wire. During production, the steel strip is stamped to form a continuous series of sharp blades, while a groove is formed along the center of the strip. A steel wire is then embedded into the center groove and securely crimped in place, creating a strong and continuous razor strip.
The finished razor strip can be further processed into different configurations for specific security requirements. QB METAL mainly supplies Concertina Razor Wire and Welded Razor Wire Mesh, providing solutions for perimeter security, fence and wall-top protection, and anti-climbing barriers.
Different blade profiles, materials, and product dimensions are available to meet various installation conditions and project requirements.
Razor Blade Specifications
QB METAL offers a range of razor blade profiles to meet different security and installation requirements. Common blade types include BTO-10, BTO-12, BTO-18, and BTO-22, each with different blade lengths, widths, and spacing. The standard blade thickness is 0.50 ± 0.05 mm, and the core wire diameter is Ø 2.50 ± 0.10 mm. Razor wire is available in galvanized steel, stainless steel, and PVC-coated finishes. Other blade types and dimensions can also be customized upon request.

The blade type should be selected according to the required security level, installation location, and budget. Smaller blade profiles such as BTO-10 and BTO-12 are commonly used for general perimeter protection, while BTO-18 and BTO-22 provide a more aggressive blade profile and are widely used for fences, wall tops, industrial facilities, and high-security areas. Larger CBT profiles are generally selected when a stronger visual and physical deterrent is required.
