Woven Gabion Structure and Applications
Woven Gabion uses double-twisted hexagonal wire mesh to form a flexible box structure. After filling with stone, the mesh and filling material work together to provide retaining, erosion-control and slope-protection functions.
Gabion dimensions, mesh opening, wire diameter, diaphragm arrangement and wire coating can be selected according to project requirements.
Double-Twisted Hexagonal Mesh Structure
The double-twisted mesh structure allows the gabion to accommodate minor settlement and terrain changes without easily losing its overall shape. This makes woven gabions suitable for projects where some structural flexibility is required.
Diaphragms and Box Construction
Internal diaphragms can be added to longer gabion boxes to divide them into separate compartments. This helps control stone movement and maintain a more uniform box shape after filling.
Wire Materials and Corrosion Protection
Galvanized steel wire, Galfan alloy wire and PVC-coated galvanized wire are available for different environmental conditions. Wire coating and corrosion protection can be selected according to the required service environment and project specifications.
Retaining and Erosion Control Applications
Woven Gabion is commonly used for retaining walls, riverbank protection, channel lining, slope stabilization, erosion control and other civil engineering applications.
Custom Sizes and Production Options
QB METAL can manufacture woven gabions according to project drawings and technical requirements. Box dimensions, mesh opening, wire diameter, diaphragm spacing and wire coating can be customized.
